When you first started playing on MWM Servers and with MWM Members, you noticed we were different than other servers, other communities, other clans. You realized this was about the PEOPLE and not about the GAME or SKILL. While other groups have attempted to setup communities with this goal, they have not been successful because they did not know the RIGHT kind of member they wanted for their community, and they did not have an application PROCESS which attempts to prevent the recruiting of a person who does not fit in this community. We have the experience and knowledge how to recruit the right people and make this a great place.
As a new member of this community, you DO have some responsibilities. You do not get to wear MWM tags, take part in our contests, play on our servers with admin capabilities, and get to call yourself an MWM without these responsibilities.
First and most importantly is your ACTIVITY on the forums. We all play different games, and at different times, and some of us may NEVER see each other. The forums are the ONLY way for us to communicate important things, events, and updates. Additionally, YOU make things happen here. You may see posts where someone says "I know I'm just a member but here is what I think" and that is important, because "Just a member" is a big deal. Do not think we ignore you and your opinions because you are not a high-ranking admin. Members have a strong voice in everything we do. When we want to expand into another game, we make a POST asking you, the members, for their opinions. If you say NO then we don't. If you say YES then we do. It is that simple. We also ask your opinions on new server concepts, map changes, forum changes, web site changes, and every other aspect of this community. If you do not come to the forums and READ what is going on, you are not being a good member.
Therefore, the first requirement of you, every member of any admin level, as an MWM, is to visit the forums, both of them, at least once a week. That means you do not go more than 6 days without visiting the forums. If you will be gone, you have an obligation to let us know about it. New topics are in YELLOW HIGHLIGHT so it is easy to spot where topics have changed since you last left. You can quickly get through the forums in under 10 minutes seeing if there is anything important you need to know or post on.
Now, about this site. Every member is REQUIRED to read this site, everything. The RIGHT side is just a reminder of who the admins are. The first section on the left is links to game rosters and other MWM sites. The university begins at "Welcome New Members". Click the first link to begin the lessons. At the bottom of each page is a link to the next lesson. Certain lessons you can skip over and the first sentence in that lesson tells you who the lesson is directed at. Some are about how to play certain games, some are just informational links to other posts explaining things you may or may not have an interest in. If you PLAY or ever START playing any of our games which we have rules for, you are REQUIRED to know the rules BEFORE you play. This was simple for whatever game you were recruited in but certain games, like ET, have many rules, and as a member, you are required to follow the rules, so read them BEFORE you play or you may end up BANNED from the game! All information on this site is important. Many answers to questions you may have are also listed here and only here. You are now a member of MWM. Be a good member by reading this site first, so you can know what we are all about and how you fit into this community.
If you are a longtime member, please SKIM over the material here, as there may be policies you did not know about. Additionally, there IS something everyone must complete, a survey, so ALL members must find that and complete it. If you start from the beginning of the lessons, they will take you to the survey at the end of the lessons.
At the bottom of the lessons on the left side, there are two links, one to the STEAM community page and one to the X-FIRE community page. These two are important because each has a list of the MWM Members. If you have both of these programs but are not a part of the group, please PM a CCC (if you follow the university lessons, you will know what a CCC is). Any events we have, like GAME open evenings and weekends, contests, podcasts, karaoke nights, and other things are all listed in the X-FIRE and STEAM calendars. As a MEMBER of MWM, your second REQUIREMENT is to have STEAM. You can download it HERE. Again, once you have it installed, PM a CCC to get added to the community. ALSO, you can add in all of your installed games to list them so STEAM can let others know when you are playing games. If you play ET and have not had X-Fire installed before, and do not connect THROUGH X-Fire normally, DO NOT NOW or you will LOSE your ADMIN AND XP. How to backup a certain file to stop that is covered in the lessons.
Finally, if you are a guest, this site pretty much describes in detail what the responsibilities of our members are and what the rules are. It also explains some of the benefits of being a member of MWM. Some places on this site have links to the MWM Mebers forum, which only members can access, but you can still get the idea what we are all about. Feel free to look over this site and material, we are happy for everyone to know what we are all about.
